CHROMIUM WINS THE NIGHT DRIVE WANTED COMPETITION
THE TRACK ‘WORLD OF LIES’ HAS BEEN SELECTED TO BE THE TITLE TRACK FOR THE UPCOMING FILM ‘NIGHT DRIVE’
2010 has been a turbulent yet highly successful year for the internationally renowned metal group, CHROMIUM. After a massive UK tour and recording their most anticipated third album set for release in 2011, The competition was intense and the judge’s decision was tough but CHROMIUM reigned victorious in the final decision placing them once again at the forefront of the South African alternative music scene.
Not only do CHROMIUM have their track ‘World of Lies’, taken from the album ‘Confessions Of A Hero’, as the title track of the film; they will also have a music video produced for the track by the Film Factory which is set for release in early 2011. The band will also be kitted out in Guess clothing as well as tattoos done by Jaded Ink.
Night Drive is South Africa’s first thriller/slasher film which is set in the unforgiving South African bush, where an eclectic mix of tourists are left stranded during a night drive safari. As a series of terrifying events unfold, the tourists soon realize that wild animals are the least of their fears. Local legend has it that the Hyena Man – a ruthless criminal mastermind who once traded in animal parts – heads a well-armed, well-trained group of poachers who are on the hunt for human body parts, and are also known for trafficking live human beings. Night Drive is set for release in cinemas on the 18th of February 2011.
Night Drive was written and directed by Justin Head and stars Christopher Beasley, Corine du Toit, Brandon Auret, Greg Melvill-Smith and Leroy Gopal.

3rd Studio Album set for April 2011!
The internationally renowned metal group, CHROMIUM, have just announced that they will be going into studio to record their follow up album to their successful sophomore release ‘Confessions Of A Hero’. The yet untitled project is the group’s third album and promises to break all boundaries of the stereotypical metal group.After a turbulent but highly successful year, CHROMIUM have gone through what would destroy most bands but due to an undying work ethic and extraordinary perseverance, the band have reemerged with a new brand new look, sound and line up. Joining the band from the early days of Corporate War is Justin Du Preez on vocals & guitar and Adrian Basson on bass. The new attitude and personnel has brought a new energy to the already recognizable sound and blistering live performances.After a terrific UK tour which spanned three weeks and 3000 miles across the country, CHROMIUM learnt what it takes to compete internationally and what the next step in total world domination of the metal genre is. Having realized that opportunities are limited in their home country, CHROMIUM have been adamant on breaking the mould and showcasing their music to the rest of the world. Being seen in the UK has led to a confirmed European tour in 2011 and keen interest from big booking agents in USA.The third release will be available early next year and the set release date will be announced soon. The album will be recorded at Sonic Precision studios as well as other locations that bring the best out of the band. Comfort is not on CHROMIUM’s mind as they record as being uncomfortable brings out the best in their abilities. Sitting in the producer’s chair is the band’s very own Jared Gunston who has produced hit albums for many groups such as Knave, Wake To Wonder and Van Diens Af.
New Chromium Album
Hi everyone!
We have some good news, and some more good news.
The good news is… We have started recording on our 3rd/new album. Everything is written, and recording is going smooth. It looks like we’re on time with everything. The album is about 77% complete. Guitar, drum and bass tracks have been laid down… Just need vocals & solos now!
The more good news is that we MIGHT do a Christmas release, but that’s a BIG might. Otherwise well release it early next year.

New/Old Bassist
A few months ago Shaun Pearson has left the band to pursue his career in becoming a chef. So now we are left without a bassist for a few months, but still doing gigs all over. We have two guys helping us out for these few months we’ve searched for a new bassist. 1st one being Louis Du Pisani from Knave, and 2nd Nic Saunders (who is actually a guitarist) from Visus, but his bass skills are right up there.
We have found a new/old bassist. Someone you might remember. He recorded both (Intro Spectre and Confessions of a Hero) albums. Adrian Basson has agreed to join the band again, and will move up to Jo’burg in November 2010. Everyone of us in the band would like to welcome him back, and I know we can only go upwards from here.
